Evangelist John David Davis, 69, of Branson, MO.

Evangelist John David Davis, 69, of Branson, Mo, went peacefully into the presence of the Lord on April 14, 2024. His homegoing celebration will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Faith & Wisdom Church in Branson.  Visitation will begin at 10 AM with the celebration of John’s life to follow at 11 AM in the church. He will be laid to rest in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.

John David Davis was born on February 14, 1955 in Ironton, MO.  He graduated from Potosi High School where he was a proud member of the successful Trojan basketball team. On February 14, 1975, he was joined in holy matrimony to Debbie Riley at the First Assembly of God Church in Irondale with both John and Debbie’s fathers officiating the ceremony.  It was the beginning of a life of dedication to each other and to serving God together.

John was a passionate preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for over 50 years. He loved God, he loved people, and he loved seeing lives changed by the power and presence of God. The calling of ministry on his life encompassed evangelism, leading revivals and shepherding God’s people as a pastor. He had served as lead pastor at the First Assembly of God in Raytown, Sullivan, and Clinton, MO.  He also worked in the Southern Missouri District of the Assemblies of God as the District Youth Director where he was able to lead and impact thousands of young people.  In the late 1980s, he returned to full-time evangelism and he and Debbie traveled over 30 years as evangelists and leading revivals.  In 1993 the Lord had blessed John by helping him establish the Walking Bible Revival Center in Ozark, MO. This was a church and Bible institute that trained those entering ministry. He was in a six-week revival in Sikeston, Mo in 1995, when he was invited by Pastor John Kilpatrick to Pensacola, FL to see how the Holy Spirit was moving in his church.  It was so life transforming that he and Debbie relocated to Pensacola for four years, and John traveled the nation in extended meetings as Ambassador of the Brownsville Revival which provided him opportunities such as participating in a prayer meeting at the White House. Around 2000, John felt the Lord calling him to Branson. He continued with revival meetings and also began the Branson Revival, hosting weekly Bible meetings, along with initiating America Back to God rallies.  In the past six years, he had partnered with Pastor Ralph Casebolt of Preparing the Way Ministries that was part of the ongoing revival this ministry was leading.  John was awarded two honorary doctorate degrees, a Doctor of Divinity from Seymour College of Revival and Evangelism in 2007 and a Doctor of Theology from Midwest Theological University in 2021. He was also the founder of John Davis Ministries, reaching, teaching and equipping others. His voice will continue to be heard by the many who were impacted by his example of pursuing God and preaching God’s Word and spreading the flames of Holy Ghost Revival.

Those that welcomed John into Heaven were his father Luther Vernon Davis, his mother Pauline Davis, older brother Kenneth Davis, sister-in-law Tammy Davis and 2 nephews, Jason Stroup and Justin Fatchett.

Those who look forward to seeing him again in Heaven are his wife, the love of his life, Debbie, his son John Wesley and wife Lisa Marie, his Grandbuddies Isaac, Michael, Andrew, Angelina and Wesley, his brothers and sisters and their spouses and children, Paula(Tom)Fortner, Lora(Lynn)Stroup, Brenda(Norman)Fatchett Mickey Davis, Paul (Peggy)Davis, Sonjia(Don)Dement, Randy(Shelly)Davis and Sheila(Scott)Hill.

All members of the revival fellowship family will stand on his shoulders and fan the flames of God’s presence on the earth! His Legacy will be multiplied by those that were impacted by his life and they will remember he repeatedly stated, “A world in crisis needs a church in revival and the church needs revival for survival!" He also constantly reminded us that "We haven't seen it yet, it's in front of us, so position yourself and the best is yet to come!” Or, as they say in these Ozark hills, “You ain't seen nothing yet, the glory of the latter house will be greater than the former.” Habakkuk 2:9

In John's memory, memorials may be made to John Davis Ministries, P. O. Box 943, Branson, MO 65615.
