John T. Allen, age 74, of Reeds Springs, Missouri.

John T. Allen, age 74, of Reeds Springs, Missouri, passed on October 9, 2024, with family by his side. He entered this life on April 13, 1950, the son of Claire and Hanley Scribner in Chicago, Illinois. John was joined in marriage to Pamela “Pam” Johnson on February 13, 1982.

John proudly served in the United States Army flying helicopters during the Vietnam War. He earned the rank of Specialist 4th Class and was awarded with a National Defense Service Medal, Expert M-79, and Marksman M-14. After his time in the military, John was a truck driver for over fifty years before his retirement.

With a gregarious and helpful soul, John was skilled at making friends with strangers and offered to assist as many people as he possibly could. He enjoyed the lake and cabin life and could often be found boating, swimming, and fishing. John loved watching football, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The memories and moments created over the past seventy-four years will be cherished by all who knew him.

John is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Pam Allen; son, Bryan Allen and wife, Adi; daughter, Sandra Nix and husband, Cris; sister, Gladys Lutze; and grandchildren: Brooke, Illyssa, Isaac, Klineesha, Kerra, and Remi.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Claire and Hanley Scribner; and parent-in-laws: Bill and Grace Johnson.

There will be celebration of life and military honors will held 10:00 a.m. Saturday October 26, 2024, at Ignite Church at Lakewood, 19585 MO-413, Reeds Spring, Missouri, with luncheon to follow.
