John Travis Huffman, age 82, of Kimberling City, Missouri.
John Travis Huffman, age 82, of Kimberling City, Missouri, passed away August 31, 2024. He entered this life on November 28, 1941, the son of Travis and Lora (Rhinehart) Huffman in Phoenix, Arizona. John was joined in marriage to Marci Fuller on January 1, 1979.
With a valiant heart, John served in law enforcement for twenty years. He worked with Gila County on the Sheriff’s Department in Arizona for ten years and Payson Police Department as a narcotics detective for ten years. John retired in 2005 but continued to serve his community as pro tempore judge in Gila County Justice Court and Payson Municipal Court. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. John was skilled at making fishing lures. The memories and moments created over his wonderful life will be cherished by all who knew him.
John is survived by his wife of over forty-five years, Marci Huffman of Kimberling City, Missouri; two sons: Travis E. Huffman of Payson, Arizona, and Jason A. Huffman and wife, Linda of South Carolina; sister, Barbara S. Peterson and husband, Gary of Dickinson, North Dakota; two nieces: Katie Schleif and Linda Thompson; and grandson, Jacob E. Epstein of Oakland, California.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Travis and Lora Huffman.
There will be a celebration of life held 11:00 a.m. September 21, 2024, at First Christian Church, 5 Hilltop Drive, Kimberling City, Missouri, with Pastor Kent Williams officiating and eulogy by Dean Pederson.
