Larry D. Eggleston, age 81, Forsyth, Missouri

Celebration of life services for Larry D. Eggleston, 81, Forsyth will be held Friday, Dec. 8 at 9AM at the Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth.  Pastor Chris McCullison and Jack Holland will officiate. Burial will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Mo.   Military honors will be by United States Air Force and Branson Veterans of American #913. Mr. Eggleston went to be with his Lord on Dec. 5, 2023, from his home in Forsyth.

Larry Dale Eggleston was born December 4, 1942, in Flint, Michigan.  He was the son of Duane and Lila (King) Eggleston. Larry served his country in the United States Air Force of which he was proud of his service.  He had lived in Texas where he worked and retired from the Dow Chemical, Co. in Freeport, TX.  He has been retired for over twenty-six years.

He married the love of his life Charlene Harriss on December 30, 1981, in Sweeny, TX.  They had celebrated forty-one years together.

Larry was a member of the Forsyth Christian Church where he had served as deacon for twelve years.  He was known as a “fix it” man to the church.  Larry enjoyed his life, he and Charlene liked to see the country by RV’ing across the country. He was a member of Treasure Lake RV Resort in Branson and the Ham Radio Club. He liked to fish and collect many things. His enjoyment was his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Kristi Knopp; brother Craig Eggleston, and sister Gloria Smith.

Larry is survived by his loving wife Charlene Eggleston of the home, one son Steve Eggleston (Julie), two daughters Eloise Shippey of Forsyth; Mary Bennett (Randy) of Hindsville, Ark.; three sisters Marsha Lee and Denise Smith both of Michigan and Cheri Hayek of New Jersey; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday Dec. 7, 2023, 5-6:30 PM Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth.
