Leon Harvey Faddis, 95 of Reeds Springs, MO.

Leon Harvey Faddis, 95 of Reeds Springs, MO, passed from this life to be with Jesus on January 1, 2022. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. at the Branson Gospel Sunday Church (Hamner’s Variety Theater) 3090 Shepherd of the Hills Expressway Branson, MO on January 9, 2022, and in Chester County, PA on February 5, 2022.

His wife of 70 years, Virginia (Giny) preceded him in death, as well as Leon’s parents, Reta Mae and James V. Faddis, and his siblings, James Faddis, Ethel Constable, R. Elaine Garrett. Leon &Giny had four married children: Leona (Bob) Mendenhall, June (Roy) Kimes, Jeannette (Richard) Taylor, and Dennis (Linda) Faddis and ten grandchildren (two predeceased: Matthew Rayhill and Lacey Taylor). His living grandchildren are Roy (Leah) Kimes, Gina (Mike) Kenepp, Tifanee (James) Obando, Ray (Zoi) Kimes, Nancy Rayhill (widow of Matthew), Melody (Reid) Root, Cameron Taylor, Robyn (Rich) Landean, and Christopher (Kayla) Mendenhall. His great grandchildren are Ryan, Josh and Grace Kimes; Jake Kimes; Shawn and Cassidy Kenepp; Ana and Beth Root; Rylee, Ramsey, Raelle, and Remington Landean; and Lucy and Maddie Mendenhall.

Leon served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Alaska during WWII in the Pacific. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, enjoyed downhill and cross-country skiing into his late 60’s, and was a gym rat before it became a popular term. After his father’s early death, he moved away from home at age 12 to Honey Brook, PA to work on a farm in support of his family. He became a blacksmith and eventually started a small business, Leon H. Faddis & Son, Inc., which later became Bee Supply, and a manufacturing plant, Faddis Brothers, Inc. to support his mother and siblings as well as his own family. He was active in Branson Gospel Sunday Church, and served on several community boards, and at Lancaster Bible College. Giving and ministry were always close to his heart, as he worked with The Navigators, GUMI Camp, and his Faddis Legacy Project which he considered his most important life work. It has been his passion to print and distribute tens of thousands of copies of the Gospel of John since 2009, making them available for free to individuals, churches, businesses and missionaries in both Spanish and English.

Cremation is under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
