Linda Beatrice Williams, age 74, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away May 30, 2023, with family by her side. She entered this life July 18, 1948, the daughter of Paul and Merlinda (Villaverde) Verdugo.
Having a motherly heart, Linda was a grade school teacher for twenty years on reservations in Arizona and police officer for the bureau of indian affairs for a few years. She was proud of her Apache heritage and was not afraid to share her experiences. She was a stout believer in God and Country and always strived to represent them well, never wavering. Linda enjoyed cooking, crafts, woodworking and never stopped being a teacher. The moments and memories created over her lifetime will be cherished by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her sons: Arthur, Toriano, and Michael Couture, and Michael Williams; seven grandchildren; Namely, Christian and McKenna Couture; two brothers: Tino Verdugo and Gilbert Verdugo; sister, Carmen Verdugo; nephew, Jose “Ernie” Ulivarri; best friends: Moya Ellis, Holly Bridge, and Kathy Velvet; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends in Arizona.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two sons: Pablo Couture and Joseph Couture.
