Mark Shoemaker, 69, Forsyth, Mo.

Mark Shoemaker, 69, Forsyth, Mo. went to be with his Lord on Friday, May 24, 2024, after a sudden illness, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.  Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024, 11:00 AM at the Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth, Mo., with visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Pastor Josh Johannes will officiate.

Funeral service will be held Monday, June 3, 2024, 11:00 AM at 1st Indian Baptist Church, Moore, Ok.  with Pastor Victor Cope officiating, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Burial  follows at 4PM in the Mulvane Cemetery at Mulvane, KS.

Mark Shoemaker was born March 15, 1955, another young man born to the Choctaw Nation. He was the son of John L. and Peggy S. (Daney) Shoemaker.  He graduated from Moore High School in Moore, OK. His occupation was in transportation, being over the road truck driver and then being promoted to safety manager of a large trucking company.

He married his loving wife Charlene Burkholder on July 20, 1996, in Moore, Okla. They had celebrated twenty-seven years together last summer.   Mark and Charlene moved to Missouri in 2012 from Wichita, KS.

Mark enjoyed the titles husband, father and papa, because everything was about the love of and for his family. He enjoyed his family whether playing or watching basketball with them. Mark also liked to rib them, laugh with them or witness for the Lord to them. He attended and was a member of the 1st Indian Baptist Church in Moore, OK.

He was preceded in death by his mother Peggy Shoemaker.

Mark is survived by his loving wife Charlene Shoemaker of the home; his father John Shoemaker of Moore, OK; three sons Johnathan Shoemaker (Lana) of Oklahoma City, OK,; Michael Jarrell (Teina) of Mulvane, KS.; Steven Jarrell (Tammy) of Chambersburg, PA.;  two daughters Micha Shomaker of Moore, OK: Smantha (Timothy) Hill of Forsyth, MO; a brother  Bruce Shoemake (Seren) of Moore, OK.; a sister Johnette McKay (Kyle) of Henryetta, OK.; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by numerous family and friends.
