Martha Mae Newbould...
Martha Mae Newbould was born on February 18, 1931, in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of Eric Newbould and Martha (Christophersen) Newbould. She had an older brother, Alfred Langley Newbould.
Martha attended schools in Hawaii and Alaska, where her parents were Salvation Army divisional leaders. After graduating from Juneau, Alaska High School, Martha attended nursings’ training at Tacoma General Hospital and took an assignment with a fellow graduate in Bethel, Alaska. The two were the medical team for an entire Alaska community. She then moved to Los Angeles to work at the Children's Hospital in Hollywood. She lived at her Uncle Victor's house and attended the church where he was the pastor. It was at that Salvation Army church that she met her future husband, Tom Nottle.
Martha and Tom were married on February 18, 1955, while Tom was serving in the United States Army. He was then transferred to the Army band in Frankfurt, Germany. Two months later, Martha joined Tom and they lived above a German family at 7 Schwalheimer Strasse, in Bad Nauheim, Germany.
Their daughter Katheryn Ellen (Nottle) Luth was born 14 months later at the Army hospital in Frankfurt.
After Army service, Tom and Martha lived in South Gate, Chatsworth, and Simi Valley, California.
It was there they expanded their family welcoming daughters: Barbara Lynn Nottle and Karen Kristine (Nottle) Jeschke.
Martha and Tom moved to Branson, Missouri, in 2005 and attended the Salvation Army Corps in Branson. Martha volunteered for 16 years in the Branson Public School Elementary library.
Martha's gift in life was caring for and loving others, especially her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She touched the lives of everyone she met and had a knack for knowing how to make you feel special. She hand-made over 50 cards each holiday for her cherished family and friends.
Martha went to be with Jesus on November 21, 2024. After nearly 70 years of marriage, she will be greatly missed by Tom along with her family and friends.
Martha Nottle will be having a service of Life on Friday January 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Corps at 1114 Stanley Blvd Branson, Missouri.
