Neoma Ruth (Bittle) Sherman, age 89, of Exeter, Missouri

Neoma Ruth (Bittle) Sherman, age 89, of Exeter, Missouri passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Cassville Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Cassville, Missouri.

            She was born March 25, 1932 at Wewoka, Oklahoma the daughter of Noel Avery and Tessie (Baldwin) Adams.  She was first united in marriage to Alton Bittle on March 18, 1950.  On August 15, 1981 in Goodman, Missouri, she was united in marriage to George Fredrick “Fred” Sherman, who preceded her in death on December 29, 2018.  Also preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Hollis Adams, Arvin Adams and Nolen Adams; two sisters, Lorena Sharp and Doris Blair; her step-mother, Thelma Adams and one great grandson, Bryson Blankenship.

            Surviving are three sons, Richard Bittle and his wife Diane of Reeds Spring, Missouri, Ronnie Bittle and his wife Jayne of Neosho, Missouri and Lyle Bittle of Exeter, Missouri; two daughters, Phyllis Easley and her husband Edwin of Cassville, Missouri and Debra Blankenship and her husband Pat of Jenkins, Missouri; one step-daughter Rebecca Sherman of Holiday Island, Arkansas; one brother, Gerald Adams of Kernville, California; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.  

            Neoma moved from Oklahoma to California at a young age, moving to this area in 1966.  She was employed by Laz-Boy in Neosho and later by FASCO Industries in Cassville.  She enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Exeter.

            Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.  Pastor Jerry Yarnall will conduct the services.  Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter.

            The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

            Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Exeter in memory of Neoma.
