Oliver J. Hursh, 88, Blue Eye, MO.

Celebration of life services for Oliver J. Hursh, 88, Blue Eye, Mo. will be held at Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth, Friday March 22, 2024, at 5PM with visitation starting at 4PM. Pastor Joe Campbell officiating. Visitation service will be held Monday, March 25, 2024, at the Porter Funeral Home, Kansas City, KS., from 1-2 PM with graveside service following at Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Rev. Ken Nettling officiating. Mr. Hursh entered into rest on March 19, 2024, at Blue Eye Missouri.

Oliver James Hursh was born June 4, 1935, in Chadwick, Missouri to Perry and Golda (Wyman) Hursh.

Oliver had attended the Forsyth School System. He joined the United States Marine Corp. after schooling and had served 1954 to 1964. When he was released from the Marines he had the rank of sergeant. He married Bonnie Lawson on Oct. 4, 1 953, and they were blessed with two sons. Bonnie preceded Oliver in death in 2001. Oliver married Harriette Burns on Nov. 30, 2002, and they had celebrated twenty-one years together this past fall.

Oliver retired from Trans World Airlines where he was a mechanic for over thirty years.

His Love for the Lord was so great that he wanted to witness to millions, that he did this by helping and working with other like Christians that all came together and erected the cross coming into Branson known as the "Majestic Cross" with Tears on Hwy 65.

He attended the Assembly of God Church in Blue Eye, Mo. Oliver enjoyed fishing and hunting when he was able. Being with his family and being kept young by having so many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bonnie, a stepdaughter Wendy Burns; two brothers Lonnie and Rawleigh, and two sisters Ruby Hunsucker and Pearl Adams.

Oliver is survived by his wife Harriette; two sons James Hursh (Kim), and Tim Hursh; two stepsons Scott Burns (Julie) and William Burns (Gretchen), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
