Palmer Schledewitz, age 91 of Hollister, Missouri.
Palmer Schledewitz, age 91 of Hollister, Missouri, passed away September 8, 2024, at home with his daughter. He entered this life on January 1, 1933, the song of Andrew and Martha (Lackman) Schledewitz in Mitchell, Nebraska. Palmer was joined in marriage on June 30, 1961, to Iona Marie Anderson.
Similar to his wife, Aunt Onie, he was known as Uncle Palmer. He too was known for his faithfulness to his church and his love for the Lord. He was active in the church, teaching Sunday school, and running the food pantry. He enjoyed woodworking, solving find-a-word puzzles, and watching Westerns on TV.
He was extremely hard of hearing, suffered from chronic pain, and lived through many surgeries. Yet through all of that, he knew God had a plan for his life. He had a very big heart and wanted to help people both in and out of the church.
At the end, he was at home with family and wasn’t in pain. He will be greatly missed. He was the true definition of a committed man of God.
Palmer is survived by his daughter, Pamela Schledewitz; younger sister, Kathleen Voris; nephews: Jerald and Gordon; and his niece, Barbara.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Iona Marie Schledewitz; sister, Ruth Meisner; and son, James Schledewitz, who passed in 1962.
There will be a memorial service held at a later date. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence or share a memory, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
