Robert W. Craig, 74, Walnut Shade.

Robert W. Craig, 74, Walnut Shade, went to be with his Lord on November 2, 2024.   Service will be held Friday, November 15, 2024, 11:00 AM at Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth. Pastor Jerry Applegate will officiate. Burial will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Mo. The Veterans of the Ozarks and United States Army will provide military honors.

Robert Warren Craig was born August 28, 1950, at Branson, Mo. He was the son of Manford Warren and Eudine (Williamson) Craig. He graduated from Forsyth High school in 1968. While in school he was a member of the FFA and played on the Forsyth High School Basketball team.  After school he joined the United States Army, where he was stationed at the Aleutian Islands in Alaska.  Robert was proud of his service to his country. When he returned, he married the love of his life Garnett Warren on September 15, 1972. They had celebrated forty-nine years together before her passing on November 2021. Robert worked for Acme Steel in Springfield where he was the plant supervisor.

Robert was a member of Forsyth Masonic Lodge #453, Masonic Blue Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley, Joplin, and the Shriner Abou Ben Adhem in Springfield. An avid Nascar fan, collector of tractors, liked to deer hunt and held the position of Safety Director for the National Early Day Gas Engine and Tractors Association, also member of the Local Chapter #16.  Robert was a member of the Forsyth FFA Alumni and was past president of this organization.

He was a lifelong resident of Taney County and attended the Walnut Shade Baptist Church in Walnut Shade, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Garnett, sister Frances Prott and three brothers Lester, Lawrence, and Wayne.

Robert is survived by his brother Joe Robb, Jr. of Kings Bay, GA.; four sisters Barara Wiland (Melvin) of Ozark, Mo., Eileen Craig (Michael Miranda) of Forsyth, Mo., Sharon Storts (Steve) of Forsyth, Mo.,   Becky Rayburn (Dennis) of Fordland, Mo., and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday November 14, at Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel from 6-7 P.M.
