Rose Marie Wooten, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend...
Rose Marie Wooten, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend, passed away June 26, 2024. She leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. She was the eldest of ten siblings. Rose is survived by daughter Sharon Rose Morris and husband Tom Harrison; son Robert F. (Freddie) Morris Jr. and wife Sarah; and cherished granddaughter Ella. She is also survived by her younger brother Alan Lang. They will forever hold in their hearts the memories of a remarkable woman who touched their lives deeply.
She was a Baby Boomer, born on December 14, 1946, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, but spent her life moving between Florida, California, and Massachusetts, finally settling in Missouri with her daughter.
Rose pursued a career as a respiratory therapy therapist. Her dedication to helping through healthcare was evident in every aspect of her work. At the age of 32, she enlisted in the in US Air Force Reserves.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Rose possessed a passion for hobbies. Her artistic spirit led her to explore drawing and painting porcelain dolls with attention to detail. However, it was quilting that truly captivated her heart and became more than just a hobby; it transformed into an obsession and a point of pride.
A woman with a thirst for reading like no other, Rose devoured books voraciously throughout her life. It was not uncommon for her to finish multiple novels within a single day—each word read fervently. She was a night owl who found solace during late hours spent immersed in what some might call literature or indulging herself in Hallmark Channel movies—the cheesier, the better for books and movies— that brought her joy into those moments that often turned into hours.
Rose will be remembered as a vivacious soul brimming with love for those around her—a beacon of light even during challenging times. Her humor brightened dark corners while sharing heartfelt laughs with old and new friends. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman whose memory will forever remain etched upon our hearts, let us carry forward the lessons she taught us: love unconditionally, embrace every opportunity, seek knowledge voraciously, and find joy even in life's simplest pleasures.
May you rest peacefully now, dear mother, knowing your legacy lives on within each of us whose lives you touched.
