Ruby Faye Peters, 88, of Forsyth entered into rest on Tuesday Dec. 28, 2021 at Cox Medical Center Branson. Cremation is under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson. Services will be held at a later date with burial in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
Ruby was born Sept. 15, 1933 in Bailey, Mississippi to Robert and Mattie Mae (Scoggins) Truhett. She moved with her family to California where she graduated from Hollywood High School, Hollywood, California. After high school she worked for The Pacific Telephone Co. in Los Angeles starting as an Operator in Hollywood then moved into engineering. She transferred to San Francisco in 1977 and then was moved to Basking Ridge, NJ to work in the Bell System National Headquarters as a Supervisor in a Reproduction Unit. Ruby moved back to San Francisco in 1985 and then retired from Pacific Telephone with 33 years of service.
In 1970 Ruby married Richard Peters and they enjoyed 52 years together. After their retirement Ruby and Rich moved to Forsyth where they have enjoyed life the past 34 years. She was active with the American Legion Auxiliary and the Korean War Veterans Auxiliary as well numerous arts & craft activities.
Ruby is survived by her husband Richard Peters of the home; one daughter, Sharon Underwood of Hondo, TX; a son Keith Severino of Crescent City, CA; two step-sons William Peters of Indianapolis, IN; Michael Peters of Springfield, MO; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
