Sandra (Sandy) Sue Puckett

Sandra (Sandy) Sue Puckett, 55, of Walnut Shade, Missouri

Sandra (Sandy) Sue Puckett, 55, of Walnut Shade, Missouri, died June 12, 2023, from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Sandy was born May 21, 1968, in Indian River County Florida, to Wilford J. and Judith LeVelle.

She attended high school in Ava, Missouri where she graduated in 1986. Sandy was a member of First Baptist Church in Branson, where she worked in the Learning Center/Preschool from its opening in 1992 until 2008.

After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Missouri State University, she found her passion. Sandy began her career in Taney County with the State of Missouri Children’s Division in 2008 as a case manager for foster children.  She was promoted to supervisor of that unit in 2014 and was still acting in that role.  Sandy was a tireless advocate for children, parents, and foster parents and she was loved and respected by her co-workers.

Sandy enjoyed taking photos.  So to balance her stressful career, she worked a few evenings a week for X-treme Photo in Branson, greeting local visitors and building relationships with co-workers.

Sandy loved spending time with her adult son, Matt, who was the center of her universe.

At Matt’s urging, they especially enjoyed playing Pokémon Go and she quickly learned to out-play him. Here they met new people and made lasting friendships where Sandy was best known as “Queenie.” To say she was a Kansas City Chiefs Fan, is an understatement.  She loved attending games, or just watching the Chiefs with family and friends.

.
Sandy is survived by her son, Matthew Puckett of Walnut Shade, her brother, Brian and Amanda LeVelle, of Ava, Missouri, her sisters Tracy LeVelle, of Ava, Mary Jo and Rodney Jones, of Davenport, Iowa, and Carla White, of Springfield, Missouri, eight nieces and nephews – and an army of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilford J. and Judith LeVelle.

A Celebration of Life for Sandy will be held on Friday, June 23 at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Fellowship in Hollister, MO with Dr. Jay Scribner officiating.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to Sammy’s Window Springfield, MO 65802 or Ambassadors for Children, Springfield, MO 65802.
