Scott Alan Kelly

Scott Alan Kelly, 61, of Branson, Missouri.

Scott Alan Kelly passed away on June 4, 2024, in Branson, Missouri, at the age of 61. He was born on September 25, 1962, in Kirksville, Missouri, to Ruth Dean Kelly and the late Donald Ross Kelly. Scott graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1981 where he was a well-rounded student and named senior class president. He then graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 1985 with a Business and Marketing degree. Scott married the love of his life, Lisa Ann (Feldman) Kelly on June 20th, 1992, with whom he enjoyed 31 years of marriage.

Scott was a man of many talents and passions. His career spanned various roles, from being a Substitute School Bus Driver to a Motorcoach Driver who frequently transported professional MLB and NFL teams. He was also the COO/Founder of Goshen Services.

Scott was a pillar of strength in his community and church, Journey Bible Church, where he served as a door-greeter, and was passionately involved with the Celebrate Recovery program. He was known for his unwavering faith in Jesus and his penchant for bursting into song at any moment, especially hymns like When We All Get to Heaven and I'll Fly Away.

Aside from his faith and professional commitments, Scott enjoyed hobbies such as golfing, garage sales, family fishing trips, time at the lake, and sportscasting made-up baseball games (cue: “alright sports fans!”). As a dessert connoisseur, Scott was famous for his ice cream cone “to-go.” He was also a dedicated attendee at all his children's events, showing unwavering support and love.

Scott's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him. He never met a stranger. Scott will be remembered as having a one-of-a-kind, Kingdom-oriented joyfulness, and a generous soul who touched the lives of many with his love and encouragement. He was the backbone of conversations, unafraid to ask the deeply personal and sometimes awkward questions. Laughter was commonplace with Scott.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ross Kelly (St. Joseph, Missouri); father-in-law and mother-in-law: John and Joyce Feldman (Illinois City, Illinois).

Scott is survived by his wife, Lisa Ann (Feldman) Kelly (Branson, Missouri); son, John Patrick Kelly and wife Sarah Alice Kelly, with soon to be granddaughter, Elsie Jo Kelly (Branson, Missouri); daughter, Katie Ann Kelly (Overland Park, Kansas); mother, Ruth Dean Kelly (St. Joseph, Missouri); sister, Lana Diane Patterson and husband Kent (Greenwood, Indiana); sister-in-law, Laurie Carpenter and husband Rick (Illinois City, Illinois); nephews: Blake Patterson and wife Jill (Spencer, Indiana), Logan Patterson and wife Rachel, and daughter Genevieve (Greenwood, Indiana), Collin Patterson and wife Kaydee (Mount Washington, Kentucky), Ricky Carpenter (Illinois City, Illinois), and Casey Carpenter (Illinois City, Illinois); and many other beloved family members.

A visitation and celebration of life service will be held at Journey Bible Church (13700 W 151st St, Olathe, Kansas 66062), on Tuesday June 11, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Journey Bible Church Missions (https://journeybible.churchcenter.com/giving/to/missions).
