Stephine Ann Townsend

Stephine Ann Townsend, age 59, of Galena, Missouri.

Stephine Ann Townsend, age 59, of Galena, Missouri, went to dance with Jesus on March 11, 2024. She entered this life on November 19, 1964, in Waco, Texas, the daughter of Cecil Ralph Petterson and Barbara Jewel (Chadwick) Ehlers. Stephine was joined in marriage on February 14, 1991, to Anthony Townsend.

Stephine loved more than anything her adoring husband, their three children, four beautiful grandchildren, and a beautiful sunny day when the birds came to the feeder, and she was able to sing with them. Her best memories were on the back of a Harley Davidson with her arms wrapped around her husband. Stephine’s heart was as big as the Texas sky, and she loved with every bit of it.

She was born and raised in Texas where she met the lover of her life and together, they moved and lived in Wisconsin; and later moved to Branson, West, Missouri where she never let her Southern roots go dry.

Stephine was a homemaker and a recovery advocate. She was passionate about helping others recover and leading them to love Jesus.

Stephine was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, Cecil Ralph Pettersen; stepfather, Marvin “Red” Ehlers; nephew, Michael “Bubba” Caldwell; and many friends she held dear to her heart.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Tony Townsend; three children: Alysha Townsend (Tyler Staven), Kasandra Townsend (Travis Orton), and Jonathon Townsend (Kaleena Ogo); four grandchildren: Harmony Staven, Eleanor Staven, Emberlee Townsend, and Finley Orton; mother, Barbara Ehlers; sister, Sandra McClane-Holder (and family); and many friends she held just as close as family in her heart.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the Ignite Church at Lakewood, 19585 MO-413, Reeds Spring, Missouri, with a meal to follow. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence or memory, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
