Virgil McNeil...
Beloved Husband and Father Virgil McNeil passed away on December 24, 2024 at the age of 93 in Branson, Missouri. Virgil was born on November 12, 1931 to Morris and Nannie (Park) McNeil in Mulhall, Oklahoma.
Virgil grew up in Oklahoma, and upon graduating from Coyle Highschool, Virgil felt the Lord calling him into full time ministry. He went on to study at Johnson Bible College, Kimberlin Heights, Tennessee, graduating in 1953. Virgil was very dedicated to serving the Lord and sharing his faith and love with everyone around him. Outside his dedication of sharing his faith, Virgil also enjoyed the sports of basketball and baseball, which he not only enthusiastically watched but participated in. Virgil also had a passion for the outdoors and everything nature had to offer. Virgil took his family on camping trips every summer, many of them to Colorado, taking jeep rides up in the Rockies. Fishing was another favorite hobby, and he made many trips out to his favorite fishing hole, Otter Creek, in Ten Sleep, Wyoming. Virgil also loved gardening, and his heirloom tomatoes were a favorite crop.
Virgil leaves his legacy in the hearts of his wife Barbara of Branson. Son; Dwain McNeil of Denver, CO. Daughters: Linda and husband Rick Keck of Kokomo, IN; Cynthia and husband John Piercefield of Portland MI. Sharon and husband Jerry Altermatt of Powell, WY. A brother, Marlin McNeil of Oklahoma. 12 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Virgil was preceded in his passing by his first wife RaeDean (Lambdin) McNeil, brother; Morris Allen McNeil, Jr.; sisters: Bonnie Lasater, Bea Herrin, and Bessie Burton.
A memorial service will be held at the Hollister Church of Christ on Saturday, December 28th, 1 pm. Burial will be at a later date at the Roselawn Cemetery, Mulhall, Oklahoma. Local arrangements are under the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
