Weldon Reid Swindle, age 82, of Washburn, Missouri passed away peacefully Friday, March 21, 2025 at his home, while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 19, 1942, in Diamond, Missouri to Ormund Swindle and Mary Elanor (Paris) Swindle, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his brother, Gregory Swindle and sisters, Mary Carr and Laree Yates.
On June 23, 1966 in Donalsonville, Georgia, Weldon married the love of his life, Linda Morgan, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Chris Swindle of Washburn, Missouri; one daughter, Karri Renfrow and her husband Craig, of Rogers, Arkansas and four cherished grandchildren, Cady, Taylor, Reid, and Brett, who brought great joy and pride to his life.
Weldon was a graduate of Southwest High School in Washburn, Missouri. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and later built a life in the Washburn area. Weldon applied his strength and skills to building concrete grain bins, contributing to the agricultural landscape he so loved. He also worked in the maintenance department at Southwest Schools in Washburn. Weldon was a man of the earth, finding satisfaction in farming and raising cattle. His grandchildren fondly remember the times spent with him checking and feeding the cattle, experiences that will resonate with them for a lifetime. Weldon's love for the outdoors extended to quail hunting, where he relished in the tranquility of nature and the thrill of the hunt. He was a member of the Washburn Church of Christ. Weldon will be missed by all who knew him.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Hickman Cemetery west of Washburn, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Skip Gray will conduct the services.
