Wendell Edwin Hopkins went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 7th, 2022.
He was born on September 27, 1940 to Rolland Hopkins and Veva (Garrison) Hopkins in
the Pasley community near Cassville, MO. He was married to Alta Fern Rose on July 21, 1961 and they were blessed with one son, Doug.
Wendell served in the Army from September 1963 to September 1967. He spent 36 years working in manufacturing at Justin Boot Company and Fasco manufacturing. He spent his retirement painting houses with his friend Gerald.
He was a man of faith and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Darrell, and Jay Hopkins. Sisters Peggy McCain, Frankie Vanderpool, and Betty Shockley.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alta Fern; son Doug and wife Amy of Springfield Mo; his beloved grandsons Will Hopkins, Long Beach, CA and Chad Hopkins of Springfield; brother Jimmy Hopkins and wife Sharon, Cassville; sister Donna Kay Guzman, Los Gatos, CA; and sister-in-law Ann Hopkins, Pleasant Hope, MO. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who helped during his illness.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Corinth Baptist Church in Cassville under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Donnie Spears will conduct the services. Burial will be at Corinth Cemetery in Cassville.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at Corinth Baptist Church in Cassville.
