William (Bill) Webster Hendrickson, age 85, Hollister, Missouri

William (Bill) Webster Hendrickson passed away on January 11, 2024, at his home in Hollister, MO. He was born on September 3, 1938, in St. Louis, MO, to the late Victor William and Hazel Ruth (Sanborn) Hendrickson.

Bill graduated from Hazelwood High School in 1956 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis in 1961. He embodied the spirit of innovation throughout his long career as Manager of Electrical Engineering at National Vendors in St. Louis, where he pioneered working with the first computers at the company as the Group Manager of Electronics. After his retirement, Bill moved to Hollister in 1987, where he continued to apply his expertise in engineering by owning and operating Hendrickson's, a business providing heating, cooling, and appliance sales, installation and service.

He was an enthusiast for all things electronic and was fascinated by the rapid advancement of technology.  He also enjoyed boating and fishing in the waters of Table Rock Lake near his home.

 Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Nancy J. Hendrickson, of Hollister; daughter-in-law Jeri Hendrickson of Kimberling City; son-in-law Paul Dody of St. Charles; granddaughter Amanda (Lauber) Strupp, her husband Nick, and great-granddaughter Sofie of St. Louis; grandsons William Glines, Tony Hendrickson, and Charles Hendrickson; grandsons Joshua Hunt, his wife Kristi, and great-grandson Tyson of St. Louis; Ryan Dody of St. Charles, Matthew Dody of St. Charles, and Justin Dody of Branson; brother-in law Richard Strand and wife Alberta of Lakewood, CA; niece Melinda Hendrickson Rutherford and husband Steven Rutherford of  St. Louis; nephew Howard Strand and wife Peggy of Littleton, CO; nieces Jennifer and husband Greg Thomas of Gillette, WY; Sheila Strand of Cheyenne, WY; and Rachael and husband Phil Egging of Pella, IA; nephew David Strand of Lakewood, CA; nieces Michelle Pestka and husband Mike of Las Vegas, NV, Tricia Gericke of Las Vegas, NV, and Stacey Strand of York, PA; in addition to great nieces, nephews and many friends.

 Bill was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Judith (Anthony) Hendrickson; his children, Debra Lauber, William Hendrickson II and Cynthia (Hunt) Dody; his brother and sister-in-law Victor C. and Janet Hendrickson; sister Nancy E. Hendrickson, and his nephew, Steven Hendrickson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Randall and Velma Strand, and brothers-in-law Rodney Strand and Justin Strand.

Bill will be deeply missed but remembered fondly for his generous spirit, wisdom, love of animals, and the love he shared. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, and he will be interred in New Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
