William Chester Jordan, age 83, of Seligman, Missouri.

William Chester Jordan, age 83, of Seligman, Missouri passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022 in Granby, Missouri.

He was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on August 7, 1939 the son of Chester and Ruby (Holmes) Jordan. On June 12, 1960 in Springdale, Arkansas he was united in marriage to Dorothy Butler, who preceded him in death on August 9, 2013. Also preceding him in death were his parents and a granddaughter, Mary Katherine Jordan.

Surviving are five sons, Keith Jordan of Seligman, Missouri, Kirby Jordan and his wife Kathleen of Strafford, Missouri, Brian Jordan of Springdale, Arkansas, Levi Jordan of Wheaton, Missouri and Dennis Jordan and his wife Reagan Marie of Springfield, Missouri; three daughters, Patricia Wilson and her husband Mike Burris of Craig, Colorado, Samantha Burris and her husband Carl of Clay Center, Kansas and Dorothy Hamilton and her husband Benny of Muskogee, Oklahoma; one sister Paula of Texas; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren.

William moved to Garfield, Arkansas in 1955 from East St. Louis, Illinois. He joined the United States Army and served from August 21, 1956 until August 13, 1959, during this time he served in both the Cold War in Germany and the Vietnam War. After returning home he was employed by Easco Hand Tools in Springdale, Arkansas as a tool cutter and grinder. In 1998 he moved to Seligman, Missouri where he was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. William enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 26, 2022 at Rock Springs Baptist Church in Seligman, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Dale Stover will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be at Jordan Family Cemetery in Seligman, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Contributions may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church in memory of William.
