William Kent McIff, age 65, of Bailey, Colorado.
William Kent McIff, age 65, of Bailey, Colorado, passed away January 20, 2022, in Springfield, Missouri. He entered this life August 30, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of William and Naomi (Thulin) McIff. Kent was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Jean Gunderson. He was joined in marriage January 1, 1999, to Michelle Miyake.
Proudly serving our country, Kent was in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He then went to trade school and became a window glazer. A caring and generous person, Kent would do anything for anyone. From feeding them barbeque, or even fixing their cars, he was a fun-loving and generous soul. As an avid outdoorsman, Kent truly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working around his house. He was a member of the NRA, Valhalla Hunt Club. Kent loved his dogs: Remi and Jeager. With his brother by his side, Kent toured on golf tours and played music on his guitar. Kent loved his family and adored his wife. His life was full of adventure, and he has left many fond memories.
Kent loved life and gave his wife unconditional love. He was not perfect- He was perfect to her. His last text message to her was “No worries you have made so honored to be your husband. If this is the end I’m glad I didn’t miss the dance”.
Kent is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Michelle Miyake-McIff; two daughters: Tristan (JL Deckett) Miyake of Central City, Colorado, and Natalie (Clint) Christner of Utah; a son, Benjamin McIff of Salt Lake City, Utah; four grandchildren: Eric, Bryan, Sean, and Luke; three sisters: Connie Hill of Utah, Marilyn Phelps of Texas, and Christine (Steve) Huntington of Arizona; and five brothers: Steve (Sharron) McIff of Jordan, Rodney McIff, Roger (Valarie) McIff of Grantsville, Utah, Douglas (Shakida) McIff of West Valley, Utah, and Jay (Martha) McIff of Orem, Utah.
A private family gathering is being planned for a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veteran’s Coalition (www.coalitionofvets.org).
